With exclusive / unreleased THROBBING GRISTLE Soundtrack!
Shot on
16mm by Neil Ruttenberg, this legendary short film has achieved cult status over time,
particularly
among industrial music enthusiasts, thanks to its original soundtrack by THROBBING
GRISTLE.
Harry
(Raymond Lee) steals a mysterious mask from a museum.
The object, steeped in dark energies, proves to be anything but harmless: a
malevolent force compels him to wear it, seizing control of his mind and
transforming him into a brutal, knife-wielding killer.
Lost for
decades, it now resurfaces in both the original 1980 version (restored in Full
HD) and the 2025 "Nightmare Cut," which features all the recorded
music without edits or remixes.
A world
premiere on Blu-ray.
This unseen
horror film, unknown even to genre aficionados, is a phantom work: an echo
traversing decades of obsession, nestled deep within the industrial culture
underground.
Never seen, never tracked down.
Yet, it was whispered about and passed on like a secret among the initiated, a
myth guarded within a shadowy sect.
It all
began with a small clue from 1983, buried amidst countless lines of text: in
the third issue of *Red Ronnie’s Bazar, Red Ronnie published an interview with
Throbbing Gristle conducted in 1979.
The fanzine became legendary primarily for its accompanying vinyl record, which
contained the band's final four recordings before their 1981 breakup.
It was there, within the text, that the spark was struck: Genesis P-Orridge
didn't name the film directly, but alluded to it.
He spoke of it as an elusive object, impossible to pin down.
Then came the silence.
And fans' hunt for it began.
Finally, the film has materialized thanks to a tip-off and direct contact with
the director made by his friend Fulvio Delprato - the former head of
Allegorical Tapes, the label that released Sado Vision’s obscure cassette back
in 1995.
Here it is, right here in Italy, the very place where it was first conjured up.
Details
regarding the film’s origins and the involvement of TG can be found in the
extra feature "Throbbing Gristle: The Only Texas Report"
This is a text written by the director that comes to life through animated
imagery, also explaining why the experimental "Nightmare Cut" was
